Improvements

1. FFF New and Optimized Functions

1) Support Painting

  • Users are able to edit support more flexibly and easily, having more freedom in support creation.
  • Added the options of Support Enforcer (Left Mouse Button) and Support Blocker (Right Mouse Button).
  • Supported brushes: Circle, Sphere, Fill.
  • Paint on Overhang Only: Painting support is only allowed on areas that meet the overhang angle thresholds, eliminating unnecessary support generation and reduce filament usage.
  • Overhang: Control overhang surface angle thresholds.
  • Clip View: Control the cross-section with the current viewpoint, to paint the internal support area of the model more conveniently. Use Reset button to readjust the direction of the clip view.

    ○ Once the orientation of the Clip View is determined, rotating the viewpoint will not change the Clip View orientation, unless clicking Reset.

  • Brush Size: Brush diameter size.
  • Clear Painting: Clear all painting.
  • Collapse and expand shortcut keys, expand by default.

 

Impacts on the area with support painting:

  • The generation of Normal, Pillar, and Tree supports will be affected.
  • The generation of support by Support function in the toolbar will be affected.

 

2) Operation Optimization of Manual Supports

  • Batch add support: in Add mode, quickly add support in batch by using Ctrl+Left Mouse Button:

  • Batch delete support: in Delete mode, quickly delete support in batch by using Ctrl+Left Mouse Button:

 

  • In Add, Delete, and Edit modes, added Clip View to facilitate internal support adjustment:

 

  • In Add mode, added the shortcut key Ctrl+Mouse Wheel, to adjust Pillar Size quickly:

 

  • Added a button to display and hide shortcut key information (display by default):

 

3) Concentric Infill Optimization

  • Automatic calculation and dynamic adjustment the extrusion width of concentric infill based on the infill area, solving the problem of overflow in the narrow infill area.

 

4) Icon of the Infill Types

  • Added intuitive icons for different infill types in the following key UI touchpoints, enabling faster visual recognition:

    ○ Advance Settings dialog box

    ○ Prepare to Slice panel

    ○ Material Settings – Override

    ○ Template batch processing

    ○ Modifier

5) Optimization of Importing Multiple Model Files at the Same Time under FFF Technology

  • When the current printer is an FFF printer, if multiple stl, 3mf, obj files are imported, or dragged and dropped at the same time, the software will ask whether to align these models.
  • This is used for models consisting of multiple model files, avoiding the need for users to manually align the models after importing them, facilitating the model alignment process.
  • If models have already been placed on the platform, and Edit -> Preferences…-> Files -> Automatically position imported models has been enabled. In this case, when multiple model files are imported at the same time, and the alignment of the models is allowed, the software will consider these multiple files as a whole, and place them on the platform at the appropriate location, to avoid collision with the existing models.

 

6) Avoid Separating the Infill Area into Two Parts when Modifying Infill Density in FFF Modifier

7) When Relative Extrusion Is Checked in Printer Settings -> Advanced, M82 and M83 Instructions Cannot Be Added at the Beginning and the End of Customized gcode

3. FFF Slicing Template Update

1) Pro3 HS Series Slicing Template Update

  • For Raise3D Industrial PET CF, Raise3D Industrial PET GF, Raise3D Industrial PPA CF, Raise3D Industrial PPA GF, Raise3D Hyper Core PPA CF25, and Raise3D Hyper Core PPA GF25, the following template changes are applied:

    ○ Removed High Quality templates

    ○ Added Engineering templates

    ○ Updated Standard templates

 

4. Other New or Improved Functions

1) Optimized Slicing Speed

  • Optimized slicing speed, reducing slicing time by about 10%.

 

2) Modify the Parameter Value Range for STEP File Import

  • Location: Preferences -> Files -> STEP/IGES Import
  • Chordal Deflection: 0.001 to 1.0
  • Angular Deflection: 0.5 to 60 degrees

 

3) Translation Optimization

  • Modifed the Chinese translation of Gap Fill.

 

4) Interface Optimization

  • In the Slice Preview interface for FFF printers, under Extruder Color mode, if only one nozzle is used, then the unused nozzle will not be displayed, delivering more visual clarity:

    ○ When only the left nozzle is used:

5) Tab Order Optimization for Slicing Template Dialog Box

  • When the Tab key on the keyboard is pressed, ideaMaker will automatically go to the next setting.

 

5. Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the issue that files cannot be opened by double-clicking in MacOS.
  • Fixed the issue that Ctrl+, cannot be used as Preferences shortcut key in Windows 11:

    ○ In Windows 11 and Linux, this shortcut key has been changed to Ctrl+Shift+J

    ○ In MacOS, this shortcut key remains Ctrl+,

  • Fixed the issue of software crash caused by support modifier.
