ideaMaker 5.1.0 Beta Release Notes

Août 15, 2024

Improvement

1. FFF New Functions and Improvements

1) Added the Small Area Solid Fill Flow Compensation

  • The Small Area Solid Fill Flow Compensation Model function can be set up and used to adjust the flow rate for small area solid fills according to the specified list.

2) Added the Avoid Slowing Down Outer Shell Speed

  • The outer wall printing speed will not be reduced to meet the minimum single-layer time by reducing the print speed. For certain models and materials, adjusted the outer wall speed according to the minimum layer time, which improved the inconsistent outer wall appearance and defects on the sides of the printed part.

3) Added the Decrease Raft Surface and Model First Layer Temp.

  • When enabling Raft, this option can simultaneously lower the temperature of the top layer of the Raft and the first layer that comes into contact with the model, which will not affect the temperature of structures other than the model on the first layer, such as the support.

  • The Decrease Raft Surface and Model First Layer Temp. option will not take effect if the model’s first layer does not come into contact with the Raft.

4) Added the Settings of Enable Bottom Surface Temperature

  • Bottom Surface Layers must be greater than 0; otherwise, bottom surface area will not be available for setting different temperatures.
  • Bottom Surface Temperature Area Threshold: filters out bottom surface areas that are too small. For areas with a size smaller than this threshold, the temperature will not be changed; the default value is 200 mm².
  • Only modified the temperature of the bottom surface solid fill, which will not affect the temperatures of other features such as inner walls and outer walls.

5) Added the Wipe Tower Flowrate and the Wipe Wall Flowrate

6) Updated the Raft to Be Connected with the Max Volumetric Speed

The Raft will be connected with the Max Volumetric Speed.

7) Added the Raft Surface Monotonic Order

When the option is enabled, all raft surface layers will be filled in using monotonic order printing, which can improve the surface consistency of raft surface layers while slightly increase printing time (the increase in printing time is generally minimal).

8) Adjusted the Monotonic Control for the Bottom Surface

When the Top Surface Monotonic Solid Fill is enabled, the bottom surface will also be printed in the monotonic direction.

9) Added the Cross Hatch Infill Pattern

2. DLP New Functions and Improvements

1) Optimized the Auto Orientation

  • Significantly enhanced the Auto Orientation and Algorithm Optimization, increased print success rates and reduced preparation time, which provides users with a more efficient and accurate slicing experience.

2) Upgraded the DLP Support Structure Strategies and Optimized the Generation of Support Structures

  • Increased the priority for touch platform only. For those support points that cannot find a touch platform, supports will not be generated.
  • If no support structures can be generated for any support points, whether they are automatically generated or manually added, all supports will be removed.

3) Optimized the DLP Slicing Algorithm

  • Significantly increased the speed of estimation algorithm for washing & curing by 10 times, thus greatly improved the DLP slicing speed.

4) Added a Linear Option for Exposure Time Transition Type

  • Optimized print quality across different model areas, ensured smooth transitions during printing, and achieved better inter-layer bonding for more precise control and higher print quality.

3. Material and Slicing Template Update

For DLP Printing of the DF2:

  • Added hyper speed template of the new Standard White V1
  • [Raise3D] Standard White V1: 0.1mm – Speed – DF2 – Standard White V1

For FFF Printing of the RMF500:

  • Added the new filament templates

– [Raise3D] Industrial PA12 CF+

– [Raise3D] Industrial PA12 CF Support

  • Changed the infill speed of template

– The infill speed of the [Raise3D] Hyper Speed ABS V2 template is changed from 30 mm/s to 300 mm/s

4. Other Improvements

  • Significantly improved the rendering speed for models with complex structures, such as models with millions of triangles.
  • Updated the official template interface for the following panels: Prepare to Slice, Printer Settings, and Material Settings.
  • Strategy adjustment for the Save a Revision of the slicing template.
  • Added the 3D Array function.

  • Displayed the target printer information in the upload task details after uploading a local printer.
  • Displayed more information of the GCode preview of external files. When previewing external GCode files, the printer and material name information will be displayed in the upper left corner.
  • Optimized the GCode preview:

– Added the display of material consumption for the left nozzle and right nozzle for Extruder Color preview mode.

– Added the display of material consumption for each feature for Structure preview mode.

  • Added the display of model volume and the number of triangular faces in the lower-left corner.
  • Added the Export a comparative report of the slicing templates.
  • Improved the display when the model placed out of the printable area.
  • Numerical suffixes like -1, -2, etc. will not be added to the model’s name when copying models.

5. Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the issue where the raft temperature was incorrect during sequential printing.
  • Fixed the issue where the value set was 0 for Right Extruder Maximum Volumetric Speed.
  • Fixed the issue where DLP printing support points did not generate support.
  • Fixed the issue where the extrusion width in material settings, when consistent with the nozzle diameter, would prompt an error during slicing for being different.
  • Fixed the duplication bug.
  • Fixed the adaptive layer issue.
  • Added new system libraries for the appimage version packaging.
  • Fixed the issue where the per-adaptive support fill regions produce different fill directions within the same layer.
