Accelerate the Development Cycle with 3D Printed Rapid Prototyping

Before implementing the Raise3D Pro3 Plus, Mideco’s product development process involved having designers create a 3D model, sending the design to a supplier to create a sample, and dealing with extended lead times and high labor costs. With the introduction of 3D printing, prototyping and part production lead times were significantly reduced, resulting in cost savings throughout the design-to-production process.

Long lead times, high costs, and a lack of control over production were constant issues for Pianca when it came to traditional prototype commissions. 3D printing as an alternative had the potential to internalize the prototyping and testing phase, offering significant control and flexibility compared to conventional subtractive methods.

Kokido Development Limited is a world leader in Swimming Pool Robotic and Electric Cleaners, headquartered in Hong Kong.

KOKIDO faced a problem where the small parts that require ergonomic testing or fine-tuning of their appearance can’t be immediately tested. It introduced one Raise3D Pro3 Plus with the Hyper Speed Upgrade Kit for prototyping related components and tools in the pool robotic cleaners. Alan, the head of the Product Development Team of Kokido, praised the Raise3D Pro3 Plus, “the speed, and also the tolerance is within our standard.”

The Nara Institute of Science and Technology was established in 1991 as an independent graduate school without a national faculty, specializing in the field of science and technology. In order to create test components and fixture parts used in robot experiments, the NAIST Robot Learning Laboratory uses 3D printers. Professor Hachimine Takumi of the Laboratory states that both the Raise3D E2 and Raise3D Pro3 are capable of multi-color printing and exhibit excellent compatibility with a wide range of materials, as well as superior printing stability, which has allowed them to accelerate the research activities.
